How long can you pump while apart from baby?

I am curious. When I had my first son, I had to be away for a business trip for 2 weeks. I pumped and dumped the entire time to keep my milk supply up. It was so hard! I missed him terribly, and had some seriously clogged ducts when I got back. The trip was overseas, so I even had to pump and dump in the airplane bathroom! Anyone out there have similar stories?

That's super impressive you kept your supply so long. I have a friend who did it for a week. I have a finicky let down to the pump (largely related to me being worried about it) and I honestly don't think I would make it over one night.
