![]() Home Birth Basket & Extras: Underpads Peri bottle Epsom Salts & healing herbs A few extra things for midwives (nylon gloves, cord clamp, alcohol pads, gauze pads) 2 large garbage bags 2 large ziplocs for placenta Old Towels (4-6) & several washcloths (that can be thrown away) Maternity pads & underwear to put on immediately Juice & straws Warm socks & comfortable long t-shirt Birth balls Flashlight with batteries Net in case of laboring in tub or waterbirth Emergency phone numbers & Directions to house Stuff for Baby o Receiving blankets (2-3) o Hat & booties/socks o Undershirt o Sleeper o Diapers 2-3 (I have lots more of course, but these are for right away) o Larger warm blanket Bed made with old sheets & plastic liner (make bed as usual with fitted & flat sheets, put plastic sheet over top and perhaps a large underpad, make bed again with old sheets on top of plastic liner. This way, you can strip off the top layer and have an already made bed underneath!) Car seat in car & ready by 37 weeks Car with gas, directions to hospital, change for parking My Hospital Bag: Health card & insurance card Case for glasses if you wear them Warm socks (2), slippers, & a comfortable long t-shirt Pjs Large underwear (3) & maternity pads Nursing bra & breast pads Change of clothes for going home Toiletries (toothbrush, lip balm, lotion, deodorant, hair comb & elastics, etc.) Juice boxes & snacks Notepad & pen List of phone numbers Toiletries, change of clothes, & snacks for hubbie Baby's Hospital Bag: Diapers & wipes Two hats Three undershirts Three sleepers Two pairs of socks or booties Sweater or warm suit Receiving blankets (2) & warm blanket Scratch mittens Now to get packing! LOL

Coth diapers. 2 Large Bowls. Blankets. Floating Thermometer. Snacks. "Birth Certificate" Footprinter. Color coded In Case of Emergency walk through for DH. Tennis balls. Hypnobirthing CD. ![]() Thats all I can think of that I have right now. I think we are going to buy a birth ball if I can't find mine. |

UGH- after 2 homebirths, I'm not very excited to pack a bag for the birth center this time! Sigh.
All 3 kids will be coming, so a big bag of snacks and games and art supplies for them. Me and baby: pretty much what everyone has said. A friend gave me some nice eco-sposies which I will take, plus babyGanics wipes. Oh, plus goldenseal powder for the cord stump, which my MW swears by. I need to get some more as I only have 2 capsules left! It did work great for ds#3. We only plan to be in the birth cebter for 4 hours after the birth, so I don't need anything overly special.
