Mei Tai

How soon can you unfroggy a baby in the mei tai? DD is 2 months and hates having her legs in. I know she can have them out with a moby, but I hate that carrier.

It's really more of a matter of when baby is comfy with legs out. Just make sure you maintain correct butt below knees positioning. We transitioned by doing one leg out for a little bit then both. If she was in the carrier for a long time we would switch which leg was out.

Definitely whenever baby is comfy, my friend still usually froggys her sons legs and hes 5 months, depends on length of child I guess.

Re: Mei Tai

my son is 6 wks and i started one leg out in the beco this week. you can use a hair scrunchy on the bottom of a mei tai to make it more narrow instead of froggying their legs

Re: Mei Tai

You can do it right from birth. In fact, legs out is recommended over froggied legs

Re: Mei Tai

My son is 12 days old, and I wear him legs out in my Baby Hawk. I fold the waist band over once, then scrunch in the sides. We are both more comfortable like that!

I start legs out pretty early. I have Mei Tai Baby with a snap adjustable bottom that makes it super easy, but you can tie the bottom of any mei tai with a ribbon for the same effect.
