Re: How do you disinfect baby toys?
Plastic toys go in the dishwasher. Last I checked, it was still considered ok to sanitize baby bottles in the dishwasher, so I figure toys are ok, too. The only stuff that doesn't go in there are toys with fabric, or hollow toys that will get water stuck in them. Even the hollow ones sometimes go in, and I'll squirt them out as much as possible and dry in the sun.
Fabric toys go in the washing machine, even some of the surface wash ones, if they aren't too precious. Anything else gets wiped down thoroughly with an anti-bac wipe. Anything left that can't be washed one of those three ways isn't really worth keeping, IMO.

Re: How do you disinfect baby toys?
Honestly, I don't
After the first kid, I stopped caring about germs. I sometimes put things through the dishwasher. Otherwise, I just don't care.

I believe vinegar solution is considerably safer to use than bleach or Lysol, which are known to be toxic even in small amounts. Vinegar is an effective antiseptic. I make an all-purpose vinegar spray to use around the house with great results.

Re: How do you disinfect baby toys?
Plastic and fabric I put in the washer on a short cycle with laundry soap. Anything with battery's I just wiped down with a clorox wipe. I've also heard the dishwasher but the washer was easier for me and I worried about the high heat buy you can do a no dry setting.

When I volunteered at the church daycare, we wiped all the toys with wet wipes.
At home, I use wet wipes or the washer or the dishwasher (that's where the bath toys go). When she was little little, I'd use an actual sterilizer, but that was packed up when she turned 1 because we moved and I never thought I needed it since.
