Avocado

Please help me find more ways to enjoy avocado. I don't like it plain... at all. I do like it in guacomole and chocolate avocado pudding. I found I do sort of like it layered on cheese with salt & pepper...not my favourite thing ever, but it's eatable, though I want to avoid eating it with cheese. Any other ideas?

I know u said guac already, but try it this way...mix the avocado with a can (or frozen equivalent) of green peas and purée in blender. I like mine smooth, if u like chunks, purée the peas then smash in the avocado and stir in the other ingredients...i add the lemon ,pepper, salt, etc to the peas to incorporate evenly. HTH. EVER TRIED IT GRILLED? MMMMM GOOGLE RECIPES THEY ARE ALL OVER, TRY BOBBY FLAY TOO.A

I love them with balsamic vinegar! I also mash it up and use it as a spread on sandwiches (grilled chicken/marinated veggies, mozzarella/tomato/basil/balsamic - melted or not; these are favorites) in place of mayo.

Avocado fries! I found the recipe on Pinterest, but basically you cut firm ripe avocado into "fry" shapes, dredge in flour, dip in egg yolk, roll in Panko crumbs, bake for 15 minutes at 450. I serve them with a dip of mayo, cilantro, and lemon juice. Super yummy.

I also like the lemon juice squeezed on it or a bit of real mayonaise; I had it in a green salad once that also had grapefruit sections in it -YUM

Re: Avocado

I spread it on burgers, tacos, nachos, sandwiches...pretty much anything in place or mayo and cheese

Re: Avocado

Hmm, I'll be trying some of these! I want to eat it raw, but I might have to try the fries

Had it diced up in small pieces in salads yesterday & today and didn't mind it that way. I just don't like the taste but as long I can't taste it with enough tomatoes & lime juice etc. mixed in, I have been finding the texture similar to cheese. Yum

A thin slice on top of a quesadilla is tasty.
