Bento Style Lunches Without The Expensive Kits

Is it possible to make bento style lunches with the expensive kits? I know our girls would
love that style, but we would almost have to buy 4 kits in case a kit was forgotten at school or we had a really busy night.
What works well

Those are great ideas!
I ended up buying several sets of Lunch Box by Rubbermaid and think they will work out really well.

I'm going to just use regular snap tight tupperware type things. I am actually excited for DD to start school soon so I can start using them

Since I'm not buying diapers anymore I needed a new kid related hobby/obsession and bento lunches fit the bill. Today I found Gerber mealtime organizers at Target and am really excited to use them. they have 3 compartments and one includes a tightly sealed container that I think would hold soups/sauces.

I'm about to take your obsession into overdrive and I apologize ahead of time for that.

I discovered this sweet mama who does bento lunches for her kids in a very creative way.

I just recently moved back to the US after being in Okinawa Japan for 4 years. Bento stuff there is super cheap and readily available, as you can imagine. I bought a bunch of stuff for a girl bento stash in the hopes this baby would be my DD but alas, it's boy #3 for me and this is my absolute last shot, so if your interested I can pull it out tomorrow and snap some pics, I would be willing to sell it for cheap, but I'll have to look into the cheapest method to ship. I also bought tons of cutie pie baby girl socks and tights, guess I should list those too

Oooh, I didn't know about the tightly sealed compartment. If it holds applesauce, I'm sold! I'm off to Target.
