Irritation to scar site 1 yr later?
My dd is almost 15 months now, she is my first and ended in c sec delivery. Thankfully, the surgery and healing went very well. But I still get easily irritated on the scar site..if I work a little too much I can see the incision looks more red that day, it gets itchy/scratchy easily bc I can't seem to find pants and underwear that sit in the perfect spot to not touch it, etc. Is this common and what do other mamas do to prevent/cope with it?

Re: Irritation to scar site 1 yr later?
My Ds is 17 months old and I still find that some days my scar is more irritable than others. I've never seen it get red, though. I have two sets of panties that hit me slightly differently, and on good days I don't think about which panties to wear, and on irritable days I wear the ones with a higher rise.
I guess I just assumed that my stomach would never be normal again, so it didn't strike me as odd that my scar would still bother me even this many months later. Hope that helps!

Re: Irritation to scar site 1 yr later?
My scar still gives me problems sometimes and it has been 3 years since my first, 1.5 since my second. I have some nerve damage because my first was an emergency. I usually avoid wearing jeans and stick to yoga pants or something similar. I also had to struggle with the right kind of undies that don't hurt the area. It will get better with time though. I actually think the pain and discomfort was much better after my second incision healed. Not sure how that works but I can wear loser fitting jeans now, I never could after my first! I would get awful cramps and burning on the incision. Here is hoping the pain stays away after my third! (whenever that finally happens...)

Mine is still numb sometimes and does get irritated with the wrong pants etc. over 2 years later. I think it's probably normal.
