Diaper Swappers

Hi, I bought a diaper off of HC that was more $ than any other I've ever bought. It was a splurge for me, big time. Anyways, I'm washing it now by hand for the first and it's running! It's a cotton fitted - it's running and staining the white inside, especially where the stitching is. Is that normal?
What should I do? I've never had that happen to me before, probably becuase I either buy used or BG's.

I'm soaking it now to try to get out the staining, I'm so glad I didn't throw it in with my diaper wash! It's a beautiful diaper, but I'm not sure I can use it if it's going to run all over my wool - KWIM?

I'd probably email the WAHM and ask what she'd suggest. Typically, if I've had a diaper bleed at all, rewashing the ones that got color leaked on gets the dye out. I've had very few dipes bleed though.

Do you always wash by hand? I can't imagine how much work that would be!

Hahaha, No I don't usually wash by hand but I figured since it was clean I didn't want to wash it the first time with my dirty diapers! LOL. I usually wash in the machine, unless I'm just washing one or two becuase of poo that needs to be washed away ASAP instead of sitting...

I agree, contact the seller and see what she says. It also might be fixable with a "set", depending on the type of fabric and dye. She really should have taken care of that, though....

I bought a pricey one once and never could put it on my son to use it

I have had some fabric dyes run in new dipes, but it usually comes out in the next wash. that is why when I make dipes, I prewash everything!! try a cold wash to see if that helps!

I never thought to just wash new dipes by hand! I hate washing them with dirty dipes too though.

I wonder if it would come clean if you ran it through a cycle in the washer. I'd definitely contact the mama though and see what she says.

Thanks for your help ladies! I'm going to wash it again in cold and see what happens... if it's still running I'll send her an email. I always feel badly contacting sellers for some reason...

Most of my diapers are pretty boring and plain so this has never been a concern of mine!..
