I am taking prenatals and fish oil every morning. Should I be taking more?

Re: What are you taking for vitamins?

I just take folic acid. It's prescription here and other vitamins are not recommended unless blood work shows deficiencies. Ill be in the US in September though and I'll prob stock up on new chapter prenatals and fish oil though.

They are pricey but they are good. I have never had vitamins help me feel any better until I started using their women's vitamin, so naturally, this time around I'm using their prenatal. When I had bad morning sickness with DD I threw my prenatals up no matter what time of day I took them but the RL ones are so gentle on my stomach. I haven't thrown them up yet (though be warned, it stinks when you first open the bottle ). If you buy the biggest bottles you get the most bang for your buck.

ETA: Their vitamins also contain probiotics so if you're taking a separate probiotic that is similar to what is in the RL, that eliminates something else that you're buying.

Re: What are you taking for vitamins?

Just thought of something... Pharmaca has a coupon code... I think it's hotjuly10. It's for 20% off if I remember correctly. And they have tons of vitamin lines...in particular the whole foods/ probiotics ones that run very expensive.

Re: What are you taking for vitamins?

I take a prenatal that has DHA in with it so only one pill to take which is nice (although it is kinda large). I also have been taking ginger pills to help with the morning sickness.

Re: What are you taking for vitamins?

I was taking a prenatal every other day (can't take every day or constipation gets dangerous....lol).

But my MW tested my iron (it's really high apparantly) so she told me to go ahead and switch to a non-iron daily vitamin (non prenatal).

They also tested my Vit D, which hasn't come back yet, but I imagine it's low (not much sun where I live) so I will probably end up on some kind of supplement for that.
