Re: Speech Delay Is it time for eval? **Update EVAL was today/Results**

It is so hard to hear these results, huge (((((Hugs))))). Just remember that it's only up from here. She's going to make leaps and bounds now that she's getting help... and one of these days you are going to forget she ever had trouble.

My younger two have speech issues, and after getting help are doing phenomenal. It's been a journey with them, but now we can't seem to stop them from talking at times!!

Thought I would update She had her first session last Monday and she loved and it and I shed some proud tears lol. She was imitating stirring and wiping the bears face with the washcloth and so forth. I was so proud of her. The therapist got her to say yum once so that is progress!!

Awesome! It totally looks like play, so don't be afraid to ask if you have questions. I hope it continues to go well

That is awesome!

My dd didn't qualify for speech she's right at the top of the bell curve. But still doesn't talk . Oh well. I'll continue to work with her at home myself. And soon I'll be wishing she would stop talking

**I do know how to spell...my iPod on the other hand does not**

Re: Speech Delay Is it time for eval? **Update EVAL was today/Results**

We started speech therapy a couple weeks ago as well-ydd is 18 months. One thing we hadn't realized was that she has more words than we though-but given oral motor issues she can't pronounce them.

I know you've gotten help but my son didn't talk really till he was 2... And now we just get words no sentences. A lot of it was us giving him no opportunity. Once the baby came he had to ask for stuff and a billion words came. I had him checked for speech therapy then changed my mind even tho they said his delay was severe and needed immediate action.. He's right in track now and he also was walking at 8 months so he just was more of a motor skills kid than vocal.

Re: Speech Delay Is it time for eval? **Update EVAL was today/Results**

I think it's great that you got the eval now rather than waiting. I've waited in the past and wished I did it earlier. I have two kids who do a phono speech program(so they chat like crazy, but you can't always understand them). Amazing progress, you will be so happy and the kids just love it. At that age it's like having a super babysitter who plays great games!!

Also just wanted to mention, that I was FTT and I'm doing just fine It's such a horrible term IMO, wish they would call it something else, like she's itty bitty, lol!

Also, she seems good on many of the areas at 18m, 20 mo etc. So seems mainly the receptive side of things - plus the ears can def put her back too, so hopefully that is resoved now.

Sounds like you are doing a great job with her.
