Here goes nothin'!

Well, I just put James to bed in a fitted and wool shorties (THANK YOU LambyPants!) so we'll see how it goes. I had given up on using cloth on him because he's such a super soaker but I'm ready to try again. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Not tonight... He woke up about 2:30 and EVERYTHING was soaked. Where he'd been crawling around in the bed, the leg of the shorties had ridden up and I thought maybe that was where the leak came from but nope...the wool was SOAKED. I didn't lanolize it when I got it because I was pretty sure she lanolized before sending and the wool wrap that I got has worked fine (daytime) without me doing anything to it but I'll check with her in the morning to find out for sure. Maybe I need to use wool as a backup over pockets or something instead of fitteds for nighttime. Or maybe I will wind up having to go with one of the pricier nighttime fitteds for this kid.... I SOOO wanted this to work! Changing sheets at 3 a.m. with a hungry 23 pound 9 month old in the sling is not where I want to be...

What kind of fitted are you using? We had a lot of wet nights before I found something that worked.

on the wet sheets! I second the what fitted question. Also I have found that my wool works best once it has been lanolized twice. Don't give up yet!

Yup...they were both lanolized before going out The shorties do have a wider leg, which would explain the riding up while sleeping. An actual soaker would be more snug around the legs and eliminate the riding. They may have gotten wet on the outside after being on the wet bed. If you have a mover and a shaker, I wouldn't put short style woollies on at bedtime.
