Re: Seriously?! This only happens to mom

So sorry you have to deal with this. Had me chuckling though, as I get this all the time! I don't even bother trying to close the door most times anymore. It is going to be open in 5 seconds anyways. I usually end up with 2 kids and at least one dog in the bathroom while I am pooping.

I would settle for just the door staying closed at this point.

The picture is sooo true! My dh just got home and is going to the restroom. The 3 month old is laying on the floor playing and my 4 yr old talks to his dad through the door. WTF?!

@Animalhouse that was funny and sooooo true!

OP I get ya! I have an 18m and 11y and I have not had a bathroom in peace (unless ODD was in school) for 11y's!

Unless I Declare I'm off duty (which I do from time to time when DH is home).

Same thing happens to me all the time. My kids are 7yo, 4yo, and 9m. The oldest two always have to tell me how much they love me, and my youngest has to watch. The other nigh I thought I would finally get to potty in peace since all the kids were asleep, but nope the cat decided she needed to watch too just as I sat down. I never get free time to potty.

Even before I had a kid, I couldn't shut the bathroom door. As soon as I close the bathroom door, my cat thinks I'm playing in the water without him and will yowl to get in. If I let him in and shut the door, about mid-poop is when he starts yowling to get out. Tough poop, kitty. I'm not pinching it off just to let you out. So now, I just leave the door open a crack and he comes and goes as he pleases.

My cat does the same thing! The worst is I had a cat who had to use the box at the same time I was going..... Talk about awkward

We're pretty open around here. No one shuts the door to potty except DS (6-he's really into privacy). The kids will wander in while we're pooping, but we just say 'privacy please' and they leave. They're a little older, though, at 5 and 6.

I told DH about this topic and he busted up laughing because it's true!

We have since for adults adopted an open door policy, this goes for our bedroom too. Only ODD has privacy, and DH ( bathroom and changing) from each other.

If i dont make sure the door is shut, it will open- by hand or by paw. I swear the instant i have to pee or take a 3 mibute poop, THAT is when my 6 year old suddenly deaperately needs me, my 18 month old remembers separation anxiety, my dog misses me/has to go out, the cat is suddenly STARVING, and DF cant possibly wait to tell me about his day or ask me where *random item* is.
What i mean to say is, i feel you, mama. I reaaaalllly do. I tell everyone the only reason i stayed part time at work instead of quitting is mostly so thar 4 days a month i can go to the bathroom with out 'mama where are youuuu' and fingers/paws under the door.

Sent from my DROID X2 using DS Forum. That means my typing is probably awful. I'm sorry.
