Re: Will you find out the gender? Why or why not?

We found out ahead of time with the first three, I imagine we will again.
Though I really like the idea of having them seal it in an envelope, that way we can all find out together (since they won't allow everyone at the ultrasound).

No - we don't have ultrasounds unless necessary and love the surprise at the end. It's fun to plan for a baby boy or girl, though tough to buy in case you're wrong...

Thought of another thing... It will keep me from going to gender specific crazy.

We didn't find out for our first, and aren't planning on it this time. However, with DD she was in the hospital for 2 months, so it was almost like knowing ahead of time, and by the time we did showers, we already had our baby! I'd totally cave if hubby didn't care, but he does, so were going to just let it surprise us again!

We are definitely finding out. I'm a planner and if I don't find out I will feel totally unprepared.

Not finding out. We do not buy into the gender-stereotyping of clothes, toys and interests, and certainly wouldn't accept the imposition of those chains on our newborn by old-fashioned family members. Anything remotely sexist and intended to drive our children into one gender camp or the other gets returned. Girl or boy, so/he will be wearing the same clothes and playing with the same toys as our first child did.

Re: Will you find out the gender? Why or why not?

I want to know so I can get gender specific things. I am not a fan of gender neutral clothing. I would rather buy them boy/girl things. All of our "big" things for baby we picked were just baby themed. I don't think they were "boy specific" So really, all we need are clothes. We will have to buy either way because my snow as born at the beginning of Summer in Florida and now we live in a climate were its in the 70s 2 weeks out of the year.

Re: Will you find out the gender? Why or why not?

I'm torn, I'll probably find out. We found out with our first two, the first I just felt like I needed to have the time to plan and be 100% prepared for either a boy or a girl, the second time because I wanted a girl so bad and I was sure he was a girl (I was already buying him loads of dresses and girly dipes)...and he was very much a boy! This time I really want it to be a surprise but I just don't think I have the discipline to not find out!
