No, not possible with my job. I guess I'm looking forward to maternity leave and considering it a break! DH has been helping out a lot but it's exhausting still with my current situation. I shouldn't complain too much though because I have an easy job.

This is me. Right now, though, I am feeling a bit burnt out on being home with my kids. I hope that doesn't sound awful; it's the truth. I like my job, it makes me really happy and I get antsy to get back in the classroom towards the end of the summer. My boys fight non-stop and it's tough to keep them both happy and busy!

Re: Anyone else getting burned out?

I am! I've been back to work 3 weeks now I think. I am soo tied today. I love my job and was ready to get back to work, only now we are having problems with our tools (computer tools) and it takes forever to get anything done. On top of that we are trying to hit a deadline so we really need to be putting in OT. My DH is also doing OT this week so we have to swap on and off every night as to who stays late. It's a very stressful week. This morning I forgot to bring a wetbag to daycare and the emergency disposables were newborns which don't fit him anymore I just ordered a bigger size, so I had to go back home and get a wetbag and the new backup disposables. Oh my.

I really wish I could have a full nights sleep but then I realize I would still need to get up to pump if I'm not going to nurse. So I basically do the nights with a DH night here and there when I ask. I hope everyone finds some time to rest.

Yup! My house is trashed and dirty. The kitchen floor needs scrubbed and the bathrooms need cleaned, and I am just not in the least bit motivated to do it.

To PP's, my mom was a teacher and Yeah, she loved having summers off but would start getting antsy around this time. I could always tell bc there would be more cleaning going on...
I am just tired of feeling like there arent enough hours in the day, or days in the week. Esp being summer, there are things we want to do - some fun, some not - but they all have to be crowded into the weekends. I am always exhausted on Sunday nights! It doesnt help that DH works late, like home-after-bedtime late, 3-4 days a week and now theres an extra late day. Permanently. And for what i can see, no financial benefit. Its not reeeeeally that big a deal but it is mentally tough.
And i feel guilty for complaining about it all.

Re: Anyone else getting burned out?

OMG> NO one has done any of my work since I went on maternity leave and the air conditioning is out in Southern Mississippi and we have a big todo coming up in October where all our paperwork (my job as of coming back from maternity leave) is going to be inspected and the guy who was supposed to be in charge will be training me, but has a class starting Sept 16 that he won't be able to get out of. And he hasn't done anything in the 3 years he was supposed to be in charge of it.

AND I can't take any vacation between then and now and I don't think our Nanny is going to work out. And dh can't take vacation either because he's in class starting this Monday that is very strict with longer hours and tests that have to be studied for, speeches to write, and since he's always either the smartest and nicest or just the smartest, he'll have to help everyone else study. AND my dumb butt didn't get on the list for our old daycare for the infant so I'm going to have to find someone on short notice that will work short term.

All of this while my co-workers play on facebook and with photoshop.....

eta=when we hired the nanny she said she'd do light housework and I came home from our trial run to find breakfast dishes still on the table and my kid was eating peanut butter with a spoon for his lunch at 1245. I didn't have to ask whether he said he was hungry or not, I know he asked for the peanut butter and told her he wasn't hungry. BUT I can't imagine how much extra housework I'll have if she isn't even picking up after them which really sucks.
