Shipping questions...
Hi all, I'm new here and I have a couple questions. I want to calculate and print shipping labels from home (I have a scale) and I noticed that usps won't let me buy postage for parcel post - bummer. Anyways, when I am shipping using a polymailer (plastic envelope), on the usps site, do I select "large envelope" or "package"? Any other hints/tips on shipping? I always seem to undercalculate shipping and I get stuck losing money on the sale...
Thank you! |

Re: Shipping questions...
use Paypal to ship, it's cheaper and DC is free. If it fits in a poly mailer, it is almost always light enough to ship first class (under 13oz) which is usually $2-3. Anything over that, Paypal will let you do Parcel, but in my experience, priority is almost exactly the same cost. And, if it fits in a poly mailer but is heavier than 13oz, you can put it in a flat rate envelope for $4.90

Re: Shipping questions...
If you're going to ship in a polymailer, and it's "fluffy" (like a diaper or something), then you'll pick "package." "Large envelope," I believe, is for a flat (less than 1/4") envelope that is oversized, like if you're going to mail a large 16x20 photo print or something and can't have it bent or folded. Something like that.
