Not weaning but bottle help...

Ds is an excellent nurser. But he refuses to take a bottle at all. He will take a binky but that's it. I'm not going back to work or anything. It would just be nice to not be tied down to him if just I need to go somewhere. Last night I was gone for 4 hours. I fed him before I left and he slept for 2 hours. Woke up wanting to eat but wouldn't take the bottle from dh. So he was able to calm him down in the wrap and take another nap. Well then he just woke up a hot mess. He reused the bottle. Spots out he breast milk. This has to stop . I'm not saying very day take a bottle but have the option kwim. I've tried pumping and giving it to him directly. I've tried a dropper. Everything. Dh hates being home alone with him if I'm ping to be gone long for this reason. Any suggestions?

Try changing the bottle to maybe an Advent, d
Dr. Brown'a wide, or Tommy Tippee. He might need something that feels more like the breast.

Well i tried the drop-ins type of nipple, NUK and the ones that came with my pump. He has drank from all of those when he was younger. I'll def look up the ones you suggested

Re: Not weaning but bottle help...

DS was just like that. On the rare occasions when I left him for a few hours, he'd barely take an ounce so not to starve while I came back.

DH was frustrated and started insisting that I "force" him to take a bottle around 9 months. It was hard. We tried several different bottles, and just had to keep offering (at the same time every day before nursing) until one day he finally took the bottle (Avent and Born Free)

Re: Not weaning but bottle help...

I had this issue and I ordered and love the Breatflow bottles by First Years. The baby has to compress and suck to get the milk just like the breast. He now will drink from any bottle. We only use the breastflow because I get less sore because he latches better after useing it.
