Re: Really DH? REALLY???
Quote:
One day DH decided he was going to let me sleep in, because I was up with a sick child most of the night. By the morning said child is JUST FINE and rambunctious. The kids are fighting, yelling at each other. So DH yells "BE QUIET, I TOLD YOU MOMMY IS TRYING TO SLEEP!!!" Then he goes outside to smoke. Then I hear the 2 yr old crying for like 10 minutes. I finally get up (I don't even remember why L was upset), another 5 minutes goes by and FINALLY comes back inside and goes "Oh, I thought you were still in bed." And here's the thing, if he were standing just outside the door to smoke, he would have been able to HEAR DS3 crying.. so either he wasn't standing by the door, or he just didn't care enough to come in and see what was wrong. *eyeroll* Men! God bless!

Re: Really DH? REALLY???
I was on Etsy last night and happened to notice this door closer quieter. Looks like it'd be fairly easy to make, and it seemed relevant to this thread, so I just had to post it:

My DH always wakes me up for breakfast on my sleep in day. He says he wants to give me the option of sleeping or eating. Trust me dude, if I'm actually sleeping, that's what I want to be doing.

I get to sleep in every weekend. DH wakes up around 6-6:30 regardless and DS usually wakes up with him. Then I get the bed to myself until 7-8.

Re: Really DH? REALLY???
My DH is the same. He is rude and incourteous to me ALL THE TIME. Especially when it has to do with being quiet when i am sleeping. I work nights and am always careful to keep doors closed and lights off when he sleeps (eventhough he doesnt work right now) When he gets up in the morning he is really loud, turns on lights, slams doors, wakes me on purpose if he cant find something, yells and gets angry. Its a nightmare.

Mine is the same way. On the rare chance I do get to sleep in he then COMPLAINS that I slept so long, I'm always like, uh, hello, you could have come in & woken me up.

Re: Really DH? REALLY???
Oh, mama....I can SO relate! My DH and I try to take turns sleeping in on Saturdays, and he is very good about giving me my turn, and I usually get more turns than him (his choice, he wakes up earlier than me during the week, so waking with DD at 7-8 on Saturday is sleeping in to him). HOWEVER...when I do get up, I'm like you. I'm super quiet, I whisper with DD until we come downstairs, keep our bedroom door shut, etc. When he gets up? He uses his super loud voice, thinks that's the best time to ask me questions or tell me new things that I could've been told the night before or later that day, bangs stuff in our room, leaves our bedroom door open (and DD's room is right beside ours), etc. THEN, he always brings DD in to say goodmorning, which I really don't mind because I love how happy she is when she first wakes up, and she does want to see me, and I do her. So, they go downstairs (with my door still open), he puts on one of her learning dvds (and doesn't even try to keep the volume a little low), and then about every 15-20 minutes he brings DD up to say hi and just "check on" me...
. This involves plopping DD down on my bed and letting her bounce all over me, run around the room and grab things that she shouldn't have, and then he usually *has* to go to the bathroom, so he needs me to watch her. SOOOO convenient, lol. If he would give me even just half an hour of extra sleep with no interruptions, I would be up much earlier and much more rested. I've just started giving up, and getting up with them.
