There is a thread about this in dec or jan due date discussions right now with a gal that had only an "empty sac" at six weeks and now is 15/16 weeks along. Sounds pretty similar to your story. Apparently, it can be very common not to see a baby/heartbeat in early scans, then to measure really small for dates and then to catch up later on down the Hope it all works out the same for you.

Unfortunately not a good ending for me. Went in yesterday with cramping and spotting... no heartbeat.

So sorry mama. That is almost exactly what happened to me. I went in for my 6 week u/s and measured at 5 weeks (saw gest sac and yolk sac) then went again at 8 weeks and measured at 6 weeks but saw the heartbeat. Started spotting a TINY bit at 10 weeks and went in for an u/s and saw nothing but a deflated sac. It is really tough, sorry you didn't have a happy ending..
