Mom with yeast on breast, baby with yeast????

Okay, after 8 months of BF I have ended up with the beginning of a yeast infection on my breast It is not bad and hopefully won't be (just a little sore and itching). Anyways, my DS shows no symptoms of having yeast in his mouth. However, I thought that if mama has it then baby is supposed to be treated? My doctor and his ped both said he does not have to be treated unless he has symptoms. What do you all think? Thanks in advance.

Google Jack Newman Candida Protocol. Baby should ALWAYS be treated!

Re: Mom with yeast on breast, baby with yeast????

I had yeast in my breast for a while before tons of research and a few dr trips due to them not providing the correct dose (dr newmans recommendation). It was so painful! My baby never showed any signs, the only treatment she got was when I tried gentian violet, oh and I gave her baby probiotics.

And if you have questions, you can email dr Newman, he will respond shortly and try to help

It's thrush. Use gentian violet on your breasts and inside baby's mouth.

I would treat baby and mother with grapefruit seed extract (GSE) first, gentian second. But I would treat both.

I always did GV. GSE is nasty. I would put it on my nipple and baby would nurse, getting a purple mouth. I read somewhere that if you have two purple nipples and one purple mouth, then you are good.
