Noah never could. He was 8.4lbs, and 21.5" he could wear shirts and shorts but no newborn sleepers. He's now 12 and 5'7 and wears a size 12.5 shoe!!!

Emma wore them for about 1.5 months. She had short legs so the sleepers fit her a bit longer. She was 7.4lbs and 19.5". Emma is still itty bitty at only 42" and weighs barely 35lbs. I think closer to 30. And will be 5 on Thursday:'(

it just all depends on size and shape. One good thing about newborn and infant clothing is that it can be resold very easily.

Re: How long in NB clothes?

DD was 6lbs 1oz and 19" at birth. It seemed like she was in NB clothes for forever! Probably a month or more.

Re: How long in NB clothes?

footed sleepers a couple of weeks..oneies and outfit for maybe 3-4 weeks...more due to a fluffy butt and length..he was born 8 lb 12 oz and at two weeks was 9lb 4 oz..so he's a big boy..but length tends to get him before he fills anything out! he just turned 3 months old and has been wearing 3-6 since 2 months

Re: How long in NB clothes?

Dd1 was 5lbs 3oz at birth. She wore newborn for about eight weeks. My other two kiddos were 6lbs 14 oz and 7lbs 3oz. They both wore newborn size for about a month. I'm not a fan of babies in too big clothes, so I make sure to have plenty of newborn size stuff.

Re: How long in NB clothes?

DD was 6 lbs 9 oz and wore NB clothes for 6 weeks.
DS1 was 7 lbs 9 oz and wore NB clothes for a few weeks.
DS2 was 3 weeks early, 7 lbs 15 oz and his torso was too long for most newborn clothes at birth.

There's really know way to know.

Re: How long in NB clothes?

DS was 9lbs 9oz and 21" when he was born, but he spent 9 days in the NICU with a feeding tube and an IV and he gained at least 1 lb (I can't remember exactly how much he gained, might have been a little more than 1 lb) during his stay there, so he wore a 0-3 month outfit home from the hospital. I managed to stuff him into a couple of the stretchier NB outfits the first week I think, but that was it about it from what I remember. Luckily my sister has been loaning us my nephew's outgrown clothes, so those newborn clothes didn't go to waste.

Dd came home in a nb outfit that I crammed her in because I didn't bring anything bigger. She skipped all nb clothes and diapers. She was 8.9 and 21 inches at birth.

Re: How long in NB clothes?

My son was born 7 lb 7 oz 19.5 inches and he had 5 footed sleepers he fit into for 2 weeks. Never got into outfits, not worth it and his umbilical stump didn't fall off for 18 days so I avoided onesies.

Re: How long in NB clothes?

My DD was 8 lbs 1 oz and 21 inches at birth. I didn't buy any NB sizes, 1 month or 0-3 mos sizes were the smallest I used. She is two months now and has already grown out of the 1 month sizes but the 0-3 still fit her. It's amazing how fast they grow!

DD1 was 9lb 7.6oz and 21 3/4 inches, crammed into nb stuff for maybe a week (footed or one piece, two piece or dresses a little longer). DD2 was 9lb 9oz and a smidge shy of 24 inches, I didn't even get the nb stuff out of storage. For DD3, I had again not bothered with nb stuff. She ended up being 8 weeks early and weighed 4lb 8oz and was 19inches, she was in nb stuff until 3-4 months.
