Re: How long in NB clothes?

8.3lbs, 22"
never fit...... not even into the home-from-the-hospital outfits I brought. We were expecting DD1 to be under 7lbs.

DD2 was 21" and she fit the NB stuff for a TINY bit........ but we could have done without a lot of it.

Morals of the story....
1. you never know what size you're going to get.
2. a baby can wear too-big clothes, but not too-small clothes
3. Save the receipts for NB stuff!

Longer than I thought! Actually I had to buy more NB Jammie's because everything I had was swallowing her whole. She was born 9lb 4 oz and 19 inches, but lost weight and was down to 8lbs for a bit

As best I remember she was in 0-3/newborn clothes for 2+ months. Then she almost skipped the 3-6 month clothes. Maybe in them for a month to 6 weeks (and of course that is what I had the most of...and the cutest items!). Then she was in 6-9 month clothing for awhile. She's starting to blow through her 9 month clothes now and wearing some 12 month stuff already!

ISO......BG 4.0 in aplix

7'9 and out of them super quick.. we mostly bought 0-3month stuff

ETA: they told me that she was a tiny baby and she was normal sized.
also, she blew up incredibly after birth and was in 12month clothes around 6months old very much unlike her mother, but quite similar to her father.

Re: How long in NB clothes?

We used a lot more 0-3 months than nb stuff for all of ours. Some nb stuff never fit. Some lasted for a month. I would get more 0-3.

Mine were between 7'10 and 8'10 at birth.

Re: How long in NB clothes?

mine was 11lbs 7 oz, and I think 23 or 24 inches long. He never fit in NB and really never fit well in 0-3M. He was so tight in them but I made him wear them for 2 weeks because I was sick over how much money I'd spent on tiny clothes that I was never going to get to use. He couldn't squeeze into them any more at 2-3 weeks and we switched over to 3-6 month clothes. I know that he is the exception but if I had it to do over again I sure would wait until I knew what size my baby was shaping up to be before I bought tons. A pack of onsies, a few sleepers, in 0-3 and then if they come small I can buy NB if they come big again I haven't wasted so much$

Re: How long in NB clothes?

My daughter was born 3 weeks early, was 6 pounds 4oz and was in nb until about 8 weeks I'd guess. So, maybe 10ish pounds? Shes a little over 12 pounds now at 3 months.

Well, we are adopting little man...he was born at 7lbs 9oz, 19 inches. He was in the NICU for almost 3 weeks. He wore some newborn clothes in NICU and once home he wore a few sleepers, and maybe 1 outfit...but only for a week. He outgrew NB FAST! And subsequent sizes LOL!

It really all depends on the baby. My DD was in 0-3 for 6m because of weight but had to move up because of length. She is 18m now and in 6-12 clothes from last summer with room to grow in most of them.
