This was my 2 year olds first food, probably around the same age. Just mashed it up and fed it to him. He SILL loves avocados! He go nuts if he sees one - fantastic first food!

Re: Avocado

Will wouldn't eat it just mashed with a fork, he would gag, so I pureed it with banana and he loves it. Amazing first food, and full of good brain-developing fat!!

Re: Avocado

This was my older girls first food. I just mashed it with a fork and fed with a spoon. To this day, they still LOVE avocado. Just today I gave my 7 month old small chunks in her mouth. She loved it.

This is what I do too only just mash with a fork. So far my first two have loved avocado and banana mashed together. I will so the same for DS when he starts in solids.

Re: Avocado

I just mashed it up and fed it to him with a spoon. When he got a little older I cut it into chunks and let him practice picking them up.

Re: Avocado

I would suggest just mashing it. And if it's too think, use some breast milk or formula (which ever you use) to thin it out. Just make sure there are no lumps.
There is no reason to add salt or any ****es.

Re: Avocado

Avocado was my sons favorite "baby food". I just waited until the avocado was super ripe.
