We have 2 big gaps. Our oldest was 5.5 when his first sibling was born, and R was 4.5 when E was born. The others have been closer together but it was nice to have a break in the middle.

We have lots of gaps.

15, 14 (12 months apart) then:
8.5
6.5
5.5
2.5
8 months.

There is a 5.5 year gap between 2 and 3. Then close gaps until our 3 year gap between 5 and 6.

I love all our spacing but do
Wish 5 and 6 were closer in age but we had 3 losses trying to get pregnant again.

Re: Anyone have a larger gap with their kids

I have a 19 & 17 year old (18 months apart) and 18 month old twins. Would love a few more, without the large gap, but have to work on DH.

The pregnancy was pretty embarrassing to the teens, but they love their sibs!

Re: Anyone have a larger gap with their kids

My children are 2, 9, 13 and 18. I really prefer the larger age gaps. I had really bad pregnancies & it was so much easier to not have a very little one when I was in & out of the hospital. And when the new baby came home, they were old enough to understand (as well as help me & help themselves if I was busy with baby) so jealousy was never an issue.

I also like that with the larger gaps, it give me more time with my new one since the older ones are at school so I have the whole day at home just the baby & I. They are all close to each other. I've yet to see a down side. I'd also read a recent study recommending further age gaps. It was saying that since the siblings are further apart, you have more time with the youngest to teach them things & just nurture them. I think the article was in Parenting magazine this year?

Re: Anyone have a larger gap with their kids

I have a 6 year 3 month gap between #3 and #4 and it was super easy getting back into the routine.
