60 diapers stolen from the local laudromat

My mom overheard someone at her church group mentioning something about 60 diapers being stolen from our local laundromat. Because my mom walked into the conversation, she isnt 100% sure, but it sounded like the lady knew the family that took the diapers. They were a family 'in need' I guess. We live in a really small town. I am going to the laundromat today to wash clothes and trainers. Maybe someone posted a missing flying so I can contact them.

Thought I'd share. I would be FUMING if my dipes were stolen. That was probably hundreds of dollars depending on the style/brand.

My other thought though, how did that happen? When I used to use the laundromat (years ago) I never left my clothes there unattended. I brought a snack and a book and hung out there. Also, if they weren't there to see them get stolen, how can they be sure who did it? I hope they have some proof before spreading their name around.

It makes me sick hearing of things like this..seriously, who steals from babies!?
Awful. I'm always scared to put my diapers out on the line after I hear things like this

I never did but I saw plenty of people come and drop off laundry in the machines and leave. I wouldn't risk it with my regular laundry let alone my precious dipes!

That's terrible. There are a lot of people in need who don't steal. Rather than stand back, idly gossiping about it, I think it would be better for her to spearhead a fundraiser to help out the family AND encourage the family to RETURN the stolen diapers, not to mention sincerely apologize.

That is really awful. No matter how down on your luck someone is, stealing just brings bad karma. I like the fundraiser idea!

Yeah, I agree. I dont think she mentioned the family's name. But I do think she was having a moral dilemma about it, that's why she brought it up. Hopefully it will get resolved. Breaks my heart. Sounds like that was one big stash.

With all due respect, if she's at the laundromat, I assume she is not well-to-do either. I hope she'll politely confront the person she believes stole them. And I hope the mama in need can figure out a respectable way to diaper her babies.
