Uncooked rice in crockpot?
I have never done rice in a crockpot. Has anyone ever added uncooked rice to a mixture in the crockpot and it cooks alongside whatever is in there?
I am making salsa chicken for tacos but I was thinking of adding some uncooked rice. I have a ton of spice in there, and probably two cups of tomato juice with some diced tomatoes that will give off more juice. If I add maybe a cup of uncooked rice and another cup of liquid, will the rice cook?

Re: Uncooked rice in crockpot?
on the crockpot365 blog she cooks rice in there by itself in about 2-3 hours on high. i think tomatoes may slow down the cooking process though. i think you should be fine - i would just check it every so often.

Re: Uncooked rice in crockpot?
I have tried and failed. I don't know why but the rice doesn't ever cook right for me. (It may be that I always did it on low since the only time I really crockpot cook is if I'm not going to be home. )
