Re: Best Natural Birthing books?

So far the best book I've read is "Birth Skills" by JuJu (drat, I can't remember her last name). It's the most practical thing I've ever read. I'm on my 3rd read through and am starting to do some of the practicing and tips included. I really recommend it!!

I'm currently reading 3 different ones.

Ina May's Guide to Childbirth is a good one because the first part contains all different birth stories.

Hypnobirthing is a good intro to hypnobabies and comes with a disc.

Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way is also great. It focuses on the importance of natural breathing, a supportive partner, and mentally preparing yourself during labor.

Re: Best Natural Birthing books?

DH and I are both reading In May's Guide to Childbirth and loving it. This is my first pregnancy and everyone keeps telling me I won't be able to do a vaginal birth or handle the pain, etc etc, including my OB and it really has me feeling better so far. I love that some of the stuff she goes in to is like well that sounds crazy, but ya I guess that is true. Of course I have no real life experience but I'm actually looking forward to birth.

The best book I've read so far (preparing for a home birth) was by JuJu (I don't remember last name) Birth Skills. Amazing!

I read all but the Hypnobirth books mentioned. My favorite is The Birth Partner by Penny Simkin. It is a lot about helping from those around you but I just though it was a great read!
