I plan to do a hybrid of l&l and dr. We will expect certain chores because you are family, and we will have an extra chore chart with monetary denominations for each, with no set "allowance" but a earned income system.

Re: Anyone tried Love and Logic's method for allowance and chores?

My kids are only 3.5 and almost 5, but they are paid a set allowance if they complete all of their chores. If they refuse, or it doesn't get done, they get an x instead of a sticker on their chart. At the end of the week we take their allowance ($1 per year of age) and divide by number of chores, and subtract that amount for each x on their chart. I have considered making them pay their sibling to do a chore for them though, instead of just losing the money.
