BF while pregnant?

Is it possible to still BF while pregnant? Just wondering bc yesterday I had a check up, and she said if I were to get preg while still BF I would need to stop. Too much of a demand on the body. Just wondering if anyone ever managed. Made me a little sad I wouldn't want to make LO give up his chi chi.

Re: BF while pregnant?

I nursed during my pregnancy and am now nursing both DD (a little over 2 years old) and DS (almost 2 months old)

Re: BF while pregnant?

I'd get a new doctor . I'm 24 weeks pregnant, and still nursing DS3 on demand, around the clock. He's doing great, baby is doing great, and I'm doing great.

ETA - pregnancy can make some mama's milk supply decrease, and can even dry it up completely. Not everyone, though. I did have a slight drop in my supply a few weeks ago, but I started taking More Milk Two 4x/day and my supply is right back where it was pre-pregnancy.

I have nursed successfully through 3 pregnancies. I would get a new doctor.
No reason to wean my ob that I saw with all 4 pregnancies ( a highly respected ob /re) didn't bat an eye and I have incompetent cervix and a history of ptl.

I'm breastfeeding while pregnant for the 2nd time! Don't worry it will work fine. You do have to eat more especially protein, my midwife recommends eating 110-120 grams of protein a day!

Unless you have a very high risk pregnancy it is safe to BF while pregnant so take that into consideration. I was trying to figure this out too and someone made the point that IF I was high risk would LO be ready to wean?
