Remind me how counting weeks work. Its been 4 years since my last baby was born and its almost like I am doing this for the first time again, i have forgotten so much.

If someone is say, 6w5d, is she 6 weeks or 7 weeks? My 'what to expect when you are expecting' app would say that they are 7 weeks. Is that correct?

Sort of... I am 7 weeks 1 day... so that means that I have COMPLETED 7 weeks and am working on my 8th week but haven't completed it yet. It is very confusing...

Not sure, I go by my count down ticker on my computer. I knew my O date so it is more accurate then most tickers that go by LMP.

Yes if you're 6 weeks 5 days you are in your 7th week. Think of it like your birthday. You are 6 years old meaning you have completed that many, but you're in your 7th year of life.

Eta so yes I say what I have completed. But for developmental accomplishments sake . I think of the week I'm in so I know what is happening, not what already has if that makes sense.

I say whatever week I have COMPLETED... so, this week, I would say 7 weeks.

To me (and to my docs) she would be 6 weeks, since that is what she has completed. It's not considered 7 weeks until you've completed that many. So for me, I am 8w3d. I'm in my 9th week, but I am 8 weeks pregnant.

my husband and I were talking about this once when I was pregnant and I burst into years saying, "let's just not talk about it!" it was one of my finer emotional moments....we laugh about it now, but I just remember being so frustrated! I say what i've completed...today I am 7 weeks 1 day, so I would say i'm 7 weeks...even though i'm in my eighth month!

DDC- but I just say the exact date, like today I am 33 and 5 days pregnant. But I will just say 33 weeks to make it simpler around certain people.

Now, counting months, don't even get me started on that! There are a million different ways to do that :-)
