Re: Percent of paycheck to childcare?

19% of my income and 11% of the household income. When new LO (due in March) starts daycare in July, childcare will be 24% of the household income.

Re: Percent of paycheck to childcare?

currently I pay 35% of my income (12% of DH and I combine) to daycare. $170 a week (4 days) for 2 boys in an inhome daycare.

Starting the week of Aug 27th we will pay 2% of our household income to daycare $100 week (4 days) to daycare. DS1 will start Kindergarden and it is all day every day. I get off work in time to meet his bus at home

Once baby comes and I go back to work it will go back to the $170 week.

We pay about 20 percent of my gross pay 35 percent of net (but i carry all our insurance and fsa accts). That is not including DHs pay (variable, and if someone was going to SAH he would).
But in 6 mos DD will be2, and the caregiver ratio changes - she is at a center - and her weekly tuition will decrease by nearly half. We have a lot of debt so DH and I are just waiting fir the day!
We are in the DC suburbs, hcol and very hardto get a good under-2 spot in our area.
