newbie temping/charting question

Background info...my DD is 14 months old, and we're not wanting to try for another LO until late summer/early fall. I don't want to use hormonal bc, so we're going to try the NFP route, which I dont really know a lot about (any good online resources out there?). I just got my basal thermometer in the mail yesterday, and am using the Fertility Friend app on my phone to chart and such.

So here's my question. LO is waking up in the night on occasion (more than usual lately...not sure why- maybe teething or a growth spurt?). Last night I was up with her from 4-5:30am, and then I went back to sleep until she woke up again at 8. So when should I temp in those circumstances? I did it at 8, my temp was 98.0 What if she had woken up at 2 (which is her more typical wake-up time)?

thanks for your help!

Re: newbie temping/charting question

Honestly I am in the same situation and I had to give up temping because of it. I know it might be harsh but I would set an alarm for her normal wake up time and just take it then no matter what. This is what I did before baby but now, I need the sleep so we are just ntnp because of laziness...

Re: newbie temping/charting question

You need at least 4 strait hours of sleepbefore temping, and do the temp at about the same time every morning. My suggestion is the book "taking charge of your fertility"

I second this! And I always use OPKs to confirm Ovulation.
