Re: I LOVE food
Ugh, I did really good all day today but then we got home and the kiddos wanted a snack before bed and they requested s'mores.
you can guess what happened next.On another note, my doctor SWORE the Metformin I'm taking for Type 2 (just started, just dxd) would help lose weight but I promise you it's doing the opposite. UGH UGH UGH. You would never know it by looking at me, or by the way I eat, but I am so sick of being fat ...

Re: I LOVE food
If you just started on the Met, it takes awhile to start working. I take it for PCOS and I know they always take a few weeks to get me up to a full dosage that actually works. I am not sure if they do that with Diabetes or not though? One thing that happens though is that if you eat badly, it will make you sick so it does help you lose in that way also. I feel great and lose easily while taking it and eating healthy (but get sick if I eat too much junk in one day). If it helps you at all please know that I fairly easily lost 30 lbs when I started it and I had been trying desperately to lose leading up to that point with no results (like biking and walking for literally HOURS each day). One thing that helps me (since eating too much junk on the Met makes me sick) is to remind myself that there is always another day. Some times I plan out treats for every night for a week (within reason) b/c I know I can have a little bit without it making me ill, but if I eat it all at once like I would before I would be on the floor! So if I wanted some ice cream, I just remind myself that I can have a scoop after lunch tomorrow instead of having it RIGHT NOW. I don't know if that makes sense at all, but it really helps me. Another thing that helps, is instead of having premade treats or baking things or whatever my weaknesses are I have parts of a snack instead. Like if I am craving chocolate chip cookies, I will grab a handful of dark chocolate chips instead of making cookies. Or grab some pb with a spoon instead of putting it on bread or crackers. I am definitely still working at this so I totally understand where you are coming from...

Re: I LOVE food
I love food too and always mentally think that I need to eat that. If I stay busy I am good, I really don't need to eat much but as soon as I sit around I think I must eat all the time. I am a major foodie. When I get into the mental zone I tend to be good for a few days and then bam right back into my old ways. I am 5'7 and 170lbs, i'd like to be 125-130lbs

Re: I LOVE food
I also love food, but have done so well with eating healthy and still have not lost any weight. I am also on Metformin and nursing and no loss! I am 167 at 5 ft 4 in and not happy. I can stick to a diet and drink tons of water, so why I have given up food that I love is beyond me when I do not lose. Sigh. I miss cheese!!!
I want to do the hCG diet but need to weight till I am done nursing to not compromise my supply. I am watching those women shed weight like water.

Re: I LOVE food
Trust me mama!
We weigh almost the same. I started out this journey at 280 lbs, at 5'4. As someone with PCOS the weight does come off with no medication! Its just twice as hard. ![]() Now at 194.4 I have learned a few things about indulging. I still eat my cake and ice cream. I still have my cheat days. But its the way I do it. If your gonna have these goodies.... Portion size is MAJOR! As well as being active. Let me give you an example. My uncle passed away of a massive heart attack and when family dies usually food follows. People bring it over by the masses, and when your with family, and grieving its a nice thingg not to have to worry about cooking. But the fried chicken, potato salad, pastas, cookies, and cakes weren't in my vocabulary after losing my first 50 lbs. But I ate them, in moderation. I tore the skin off the chicken, I had small helpings oof carbs and loaded up on the salad. My sweet tooth is massive ! But I had my unhealthy slice of red velvet (TWICE) and when I went backk home and stepped on the scale, I had lost 7 lbs during a 10 day trip. I forced my cousins to walk with me 3 miles everyday because I knew that my intake was a change, so I had to push myself. The little changes like these have made me extremely successful. I have lost 87 lbs! I have 53 to go. But always say you can have your cake and lose weight too! Its just how you do it!
