Re: Would you join a babysitting swap group...with strangers?
No way no how. Family and close friends only. Even then I am picky. I rarely leave my kids at all. Not before 1 1/2-2 years with family. When my children are sent off to school I give them instructions to never be alone with teachers or other students. They are instructed to let me know if they ever are.

What are people supposed to do if they have no.friends or family? I wouldnt just give my kids to strangers but i could see joining a babysitting coop to meet parents to see if they have same values and ideas etc. I would of course want background checks and expect one on me but i don't see it much different than a playgroup.

Re: Would you join a babysitting swap group...with strangers?
Yes I would. I have no family around who is WILLING to babysit, and I'm a single mom so that leaves me with few resources. I wouldn't just hand my child off to a stranger, but if we had meetings where we could get to know one another and have references, back ground checks, etc, why not? I think it's a great way to get to know other parents and have people you can count on when you need help

Nope. Not a chance.
I have actually skipped the Marine Corps Ball because I won't take my kids to the 'child care offered onsite'. I couldn't be comfortable knowing my children were with strangers to them without a trusted adult nearby.

![]() Not a fan of CL child care. If it were like, qualified through the state providers branching out together, or really close friends I knew I agreed with on parenting tactics and care, maybe. I can understand friends making a group. But if anyone and their brother can pop in, no thanks :/ Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using DS Forum
