First Midwife apt. Heard the HB!!!!

WHAT A RELIEF. I was worried, only because that is what I DO.

I asked her at the end of the apt if we could check for the heartbeat and she said "of course, but it's 50/50 as to whether you can hear it at this point but we will check!". So I lay down and she felt for my uterus (at 10.5 weeks it is about 2 inches above my pubic bone which she says is normal for 3rd pregnancies). She then placed the doppler down on me and we IMMEDIATELY heard the heartbeat. We looked at eachother, both of us shocked at how easy that was! (we laughed about it). I took 10 seconds of video so I can show Ryan and before I'd even left the office I'd emailed it to my 4 best friends (who have iphones, so it's so easy).

wahoo...same appt for us today at 10.5...found it right away after a big lecture about how it may take a while and she may not find it. It was higher than i expected too. Guess are uteruses get the memo to move up and out!

Great! I heard today too I am 11w3d and she was checking too close to my pubic bone at first and couldn't find it. I was getting a bit nervous. But she eventually found it and it was 160.

It really is, isn't it? I played it for my grandma today as it was her 85th birthday. She thought it was pretty neat....
