Where is your favorite place to buy fabrics?

and why is it your favorite place?

Do you look for clearance or does price not matter?

nature's fabrics is both my favorite and my husband's arch nemesis. If only I could find a way to get fabric for free!

I like both Wazoodle & Fabric.com for just ordering "whatever," but for really great fabric I've had luck purchasing wholesale or from coops.

I order from fabric.com if I want something specific they usually have it fairly reasonable priced and free shipping at $35... I have also ordered from Jimmybeanswool bc I found some really cute prints on sale and needed yarn they carried too - they ship super fast... My lys is 30min away, but she carries really nice fabric... it's several $ more per yard than fabric.com, but it's supporting local and you can see how it all matches and get 1/4" cuts... I've gotten some from walmart, but not super impressed - cheaper wrinkles easier, but good for valances or something girls aren't wearing...

I do like to look at their clearance section. But I like that these are prints you rarely see in other places. I also like that they sell collections so the fabric is all matched nicely for you.

diapersewingsupplies.com - I like you can buy PUL cuts.
printknitstudios.com - cheap knits, reasonable shipping.
Kids in the Garden and Very Baby for notions. Kids in the Garden also does fabric by the inch.
Otherwise I actually get most of my stuff from JoAnn's. They now have a great selection for diaper making stuff: microfleece, suedecloth and PUL. And they always have coupons circulating.

How do you like JoAnn's microfleece? I bought some the other day but I've yet to use it.

Re: Where is your favorite place to buy fabrics?

I'm so glad to read this thread, I want to get some cotton sherpa and need to look for it... I found out recently that Fabric.com is a subsidiary of amazon. I was super disappointed to hear this, and it makes me want to shop locally instead because we have some great local places. Of course, I haven't been able to afford fabric in years anyway, so I make due with what we have on hand.... and you'd be surprised how much my stash has shrunk in three years of non-shopping!! gasp- I might have to buy something again soon!
