Pregnancy and fost/adopt

I was wondering if anyone knows... we are waiting fost/adopt parents. We don't have any placements right now, and were waiting on an adoptivie placement. Well, I recently found out I am pregnant. Do you know if I am required to tell our agency right away? there is a sib set we were kinda waiting on and hoping to adopt, and I am so scared this will totally take us out of the running. But they aren't going to be available to be transistioned to the adoptive home until at least Oct , not like I can HIDE the pregnancy. I will be showing by then for sure.
I don't know what this means for us. We are in Colorado.
Thanks,
Kindra

I don't think they look kindly on adopting while pregnant, but I don't know anything definite about this. Your SW would probably be a good resource but it sounds like you don't want to spill the beans quite yet. I hope it all works out well for you, whatever happens.

I think each state/county can be different. Ours doesn't care...we just got a placement 4 weeks from my due date. :-) hth

It will depend on the worker and agency. The recommendation is to have some natural spacing for bonding/developmental reasons but you will only be a few months along. I would wait a few months to tell them as you don't know what will happen. Congrat's!

Thank you! I am going to wait another couple weeks and then let them know.. We really are only interested in this specific girl (and possibly her sib) that my friend fosters. If we aren't able to have them, we will probably decide to just close our case for now... we would love the prayers!
