Best covers?
I'm looking for the perfect covers:
-- easy wash -- OS -- breathable -- trim -- inexpensive Not sure I'm prepared to tackle wool quite yet. Any other suggestions? |

Re: Best covers?
If you want breathable I think you're going to be limited to fleece and wool. Fleece is fairly trim and can be washed with regular diapers, so I would start there.

Re: Best covers?
If you don't want to be limited to the fleece or wool, and are willing to look at PUL (not breathable, I know).... I have loved the thirsties covers and the diaper rite one size covers. The thirsties actually have two sizes, but I bought the size one for my newborn, and at 2 months we're still on the smallest setting. We also tried the weehuggers and the capri, but both have fabric flaps inside (to hold a trifolded prefold I guess), that constantly get soaked even with a snappi'd prefold and I don't like the idea of reusing it when it's soaked in pee.
the diaper rite ones I just picked up on the way out of town and we used them the entire way on a 20 hour road trip and had absolutely no leaks. They are super stretchy and fit awesome. They also have cross over snaps, so they already fit my LO where many one-size diapers are still a little bit (like BG 4.0). |

Re: Best covers?
Something side-snapping will get you some air circulation, but I'm not sure if those work with padfolds/trifolds/inserts or just with fitteds (anyone?) On the not breathable side, I love me some Flips (and other mamas do too based on some of the threads around here lately). I prefer aplix, but that's just me. All of the Bummis covers (Super Whisper, Super Brite, Super Lite) are all great too. I personally dislike the fit of Thirsties, both their Duo and their sized covers, but maybe it's just my baby's shape (thick thighs, slim waist).

Re: Best covers?
I have not tried any breathable covers yet ( I have a friend making me a wool cover at the moment). On the PUL side, we love our flips and grovia. Our dd is skinny with a bit of a thigh and the flips not only fit and don't leak, but no red marks on her legs. We have been using both since about 3 weeks old.

Re: Best covers?
If you want the most breathable, try wool. We tried some PUL covers (bummis, weehuggers, and thirsties duo) when ds2 was about a month old just to check them out (we have always been wool users) and we did not like them, so we went back to exclusively using wool. I just purchased 3 Flip covers because I read so many great reviews. We have used each cover once, and they seem so work fine so far, no heat rash or red marks on his thighs, but I do not love them as much as wool, so I will probably sell them.

Re: Best covers?
I love Flip covers. They are pretty inexpensive, and I haven't had any problems with them at all.
