I'd be very interested in the moms group and in doing a diaper swap!! How often does the group meet?

Old Saybrook is nice just far from where you mentioned before. Were are you guys staying now?
What do you like about Old Saybrook? Is your DH still going to work at Mohegan?

Amanda . Blaming my phone for typos and crap.

We are staying at Mohegan sun now and yes he will be working here. What I like about old saybrook was being closer to stores and things plus its just a cute town. Since I don't drive it's not really feasible for us to live in the more rural areas. But if you have other suggestions we are open to them

What stores in Old Saybrook are you interested in?
Waterford has a mall, Target, Michaels, D*cks, Babies r Us...etc. Old Saybrook is a cute town but I would actually consider it pretty rural for New England standards. Its also like a 30 minutes drive to the casino.

Re: Connecticut moms?

I guess it just seems less rural than the other towns we have looked at here like gales ferry, old Lyme and centerbrook . We haven't really checked out Waterford , I have been mostly going by what people on mothering have told me about towns around here since we aren't familiar with the area at all. And Waterford hadn't even mentioned to me as a good place to live , not saying it isn't just saying no one had mentioned it to me. Do you know much about Waterford? Any info you might have is helpful. Good schools are also a factor for us we have 17 and 12 year old sons.

Well I guess I never suggested it b/c I didnt know you didnt drive. Now knowing that I would suggest it. It borders New London. Is is quick drive to the casino depending on what you live it.

Old Lyme and Old Saybrook are wealthy communities....and act like it.
They are nice and beautiful but are both small towns and are not close to the casino.
I originally suggested Gales Ferry b/c its a really cute small village that borders Groton (which you said you were looking in). Gales Ferry has *great* schools...Groton does not.

So in that case I think you'd run into a lot of the same problems in Old Lyme and Old Saybrook that your worried about with Gales Ferry. Excepts Gales Ferry is closer to all the stores.

People who live out in Lyme, Niantic, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook come over this way (Groton, New London, Waterford) area to do their shopping.

The schools in Waterford are good. There is public tranportation. The shops and stuff are close to each other and its pretty close to the Casino.
