August TTC #1 -No Children Mentioned-
This thread is for all of us ladies who are still trying for our first living child.
The truth is at the end of the day when we're anxiously awaiting that BFP.......and it's a BFN we don't have any precious LO's to hold in our arms. We have no comfort in the children we already have, since we have none. And sometimes it makes us sad to keep hearing about everyone else with children, and stories about those children just hurt. So we won't mention any children here. So it's a safe place without judgment when we get jealous. [COLOR="DarkOrchid"] Mamas to be... Re: August TTC #1 -No Children Mentioned-
CD#13. O Day. Now that my fetility friend free VIP trial has ended I find i'm not liking the site anymore. There are tons of other free options that function just the same so i'm not going to be using that site anymore. Weight loss is going good still but not as good as I want.
I'm hoping some extra diet changes and a new exercise routine will help.I need to rant somewhere right now before I go crazy so i'm going to do it here. My cousin, the mother of my god-children, is about to drive me crazy! We have different parenting views and here lately we've really been clashing about them. Her kids are 2 1/2 years old and 9 months old. She's given them both soda and junk food since they were infants (one was 2 weeks, the other 4 weeks) and doesn't think kids should be homeschooled (she says they won't get socialized or learn much), she gave up on cloth diapers (she says she can't stand to wash them and disposables are too convinient to give up), she didn't even try to breastfeed and had 2 voluntary c-sections. My parenting views are the complete of opposite of my cousins. I plan for my kids to not have soda or junk food for as long as possible, not watch TV until they need to for educational purposes, I want to homeschool, breastfeed, cloth diaper, and have natural births if possible. I usually just let my cousin be because they're her kids, even though it kills me, but now she's trying to influence my sister who is due in October. My sister has the same parenting views as me and my cousin is trying to get her to be more like her, telling us we're both wierd and she's worried the baby will turn out wierd too. That alone makes me angry, we don't judge her parenting or call her kids wierd, but she also talks about how she's going to try and sabotage my sister's parenting views behind her back. My cousin says if she watches my niece she's going to prop her in front of the TV and give her soda and chocolate! Needless to say the cousin will not be babysitting my niece or my future kids. I don't know how much longer I can put up with her without flipping out but no matter what I say to her she just keeps on saying the same stuff! She used to not be this bad, she was once willing to homeschool and cloth diaper, but now it's like she's a completely different person. I'm done ranting now, sorry for the long post!

![]() Becca, the best advice I can give is to take a step back and breathe and give it a little time to settle. Talk to your sister since she has the same views as you, and see how she feels. Maybe the two of you can talk to your cousin and respectfully disagree with her parenting style, while telling her that it is her choice to raise her children that way, but it isn't yours. Tell her it isn't fair for her to try to force her views on you and your sister (provided your sister and you agree), and that you don't intend to force your views on her. Maybe an "agree to disagree" is in order. I can see how frustrating that can be! AFM, CD #16 we are still talking about the IVF and debating cost. I'm also going through lots with my job right now, and trying to cut out the stress from my life... which seems not to be happening. I had to file an EEO complaint at work a while back, and it's still not settled... in fact it's going to a full blown lawsuit because the persons ADMITTED they did what they did to me, but they don't want to mediate and settle it. So... I'm not sure when IVF will be happening for us. Right now we are just DTD and seeing if maybe a miracle will happen with DH's vas magically repairing itself... which would be a one in a million chance... but a girl's gotta try, right? ![]() I'm going to try to take more stash photos soon. I have to clean out the spare room and go through my baby collections. I have almost the entire Zanzibar jungle/safari themed crib set and room set, and a ton of clothes, both genders. I've got a bunch of diapers too... most of my NB stash are Kissaluvs size 0's with the snap down umbilical cord. I'm going to dye them with Dharma dyes eventually. I've got one Alva minky (giraffe), a few BG 4.0's (all of the artist prints, lovelace, and albert, plus a few others), two or three flip covers, some prefolds and snappi's, wool, a grovia NB AIO, some BG newborn AIO's, and some other random covers (thirsties, zookies, etc). I'll take photos soon, I promise!

Re: August TTC #1 -No Children Mentioned-
CD#15. I had a dream last night I had a BFP and when I woke up this morning I was extremely sad because of it. I'd never had that kind of dream before. To make me feel even worse today I have bad nausea and can hardly eat. On a different note, has anyone else tried to cut out processed food and just buy food with a simple ingredient list? We're trying this but i'm having trouble finding a good alternative to certain things, like vanilla coffee creamer. I tried vanilla soy milk (the Wal-Mart brand) but it tastes too nutty. Anyone have any ideas for a beter replacement?

Re: August TTC #1 -No Children Mentioned-
I also had a dream where I was pregnant last night. I was working on my "surprise" gift for my husband. I have it mostly put together IRL, I just need a few things. I really want to make the announcement special for him. I'm trying to back off from this forum (except my IHA/ISO) because I'm just having a hard time dealing with all these BFPs posted everywhere. I'm also trying to stay off FB and a few of my blogs. It's kind of depressing because I still don't have any friends since we've moved here. There is one girl that I'm friendly with at work, but we haven't hung out outside of work. I am just lonely and my husband doesn't understand my extreme disappointment. He wants a baby but would be fine waiting a while. My body aches when I see a pregnant woman or younger child. And I work at Gymboree. :/ I had to 1/4th my metformin because it was making me so sick and I did not ever get a period after Provera. I'm not sure what's going to happen with that. I will probably be lurking more this month than anything. GL to all of you!

Re: August TTC #1 -No Children Mentioned-
CD#16. Fertility Friend had my ovulation as on the 13th but I think I ovulated yesterday. This may be TMI buy my side had a pain in it and not long afterwards I noticed my EWCM had blood streaks in it and there were spots of blood in my panties. If that is the case AF is due on the 16th, just a couple days after I return to work instead of the day I return to work. I have a test left over from a couple cycles ago and i'm probably going to use it on the 15th if there are no signs AF might show up the next day. We had my sister's baby shower today and everyone had a good time. My sister didn't want one at first but afterwards she thanked me for talking her into it. Yesterday I got some more free baby clothes, 2 gender neutral sleepers in size 6-9 months with monkey prints. I love monkeys so I was super excited to get them. I also love stocking up on purple girl clothes. DH doesn't mind because I always get my baby clothes from family and friends.

17 days after stopping Provera, I finally got a period. And it hurts. I've never really had painful periods before. :/ My heating pad did nothing last night. Do you ladies do anything besides Tylenol/Ibuprofen?

Re: August TTC #1 -No Children Mentioned-
I usually get in water when mine is bad, it helps me a ton. Either the tub, or a pool or hot tub.
