Taking It Year By Year...

For those who have done the "taking it one year at a time" approach to homeschooling, when did you place your child in public/private school if you chose to do so?
What age or grade was your child in?

Most folks we know tend to put their kids into a traditional school for high school. A few others have started at different times based on the child. In some cases the child got lonely being the only kid left at home and started earlier. In some cases, the parents realized the child had unique needs that required a bit more structure or support than was working at home for a time. I've also known a few parents who put their kids in a bit before high school because the child just stopped working at home. But the most common time frame I often see is high school.

Well, we take it year by year, and right now we're almost starting year 4 of homeschooling. Part of the equation though is that I wouldn't consider putting my kids into public schools until when/if we moved into a better school district. Who knows when that may be!

We take it year to year.
DD 1 private school K,1,2, homeschool 3,4,5, private school 6 and this year homeschol 7
DD 2 homeschool K, private school 1, homeschool 2, private school 3 and now home 4
DS 1 homeschool K, private 1, now home 2

Whatever works/doesn't for us that year is what we have been doing. The kids really wanted to be home this year after all being in a private school last year..so that is what it is.

Wow, I'm surprised they can go back and for so easily. That is one aspect I'm worried about.
