Re: Did your pedi fire you?

Wow, firing seems to be way more common than I thought I do plan to call as a new patient tomorrow and ask what their policy is, I'm not feeling very hopeful now though.

No, he's actually fully supportive of it. He will also spend as much time as we want doing a risk/benefit analysis of each specific vaccination for us.

Pedis fire for all kinds of reasons. My SIL's ped practice will not accept patients that have a smoker in the home.

Ha! I've been fired 4 times. Now we finally have a doc who isn't my favorite but accepts that we don't vaccinate so I'm sticking with her. We rarely have to go in to see her anyway.

We interviewed the pedi before my LO was born so I knew it wasn't going to be a problem. I agree that you could call in pretending a new patient.

The justification is that they don't want to deal with the constant colds and asthma issues that children of smokers often develop. They are a super busy practice, so obviously their choice isn't hitting them in the pocketbook.

Re: Did your pedi fire you?

My old office threated me with the "They HAVE to have them to go to daycare", I replied "I will be staying at home with them". Then they pulled out the sure fire way to scare me with "They HAVE to have them to go to school." and I replied, "We will be homeschooling" The end. However after moving, the new office I went to will not take patients with out vaxing, sooo we don't have a dr right now. If they are sick, we go to the walk in clinic.
