I better not go into labor today...
Because my car won't start! The battery is dead, I think. But this raises a good question, what would you do if you went into labor, and had no way to get to the hospital? I'd ask my mom to come get me, but she doesn't have car seats for my kids, so I'm not sure what I would do with them.

Re: I better not go into labor today...
murphey's law says you will probably go into labor
I'd call my midwife over I suppose if we were going to the hospital your only choice would be ambulance or to have someone drive me, switch out all the carseats etc

Re: I better not go into labor today...
That was exactly my thought! No labor yet, but I guess the day is not over and the battery is still charging...
Definitely a perk of having a homebirth, you don't have to go anywhere! But what if your midwife's car wouldn't start?

Lol! Sorry! I'm entering my panic-now-because-you're-about-to-have-a-baby mode and these weird things to worry about keep popping into my head. I'll try not to rub it off on anyone else! But my car not starting is probably a legitimate concern, at least for me!

Re: I better not go into labor today...
Oh my goodness the car not starting hasn't even crossed my mind. I have had every other thing cross my mind this time.
~being home alone every afternoon/evening with the two boys is my biggest one. DH is 30 min away at work and we are 30 min from the hospital. I do have a neighbor that will come stay with the obys. Since the last one came very very fast I did make a phone call to the fire station and asked about response times and if they had delivered many babies. The guy was super nice and only laughed a little.
