Re: Paleo & Primal Chat August/September

TPLmommy~ Thank you for the breakfast tips! I need some inspiration! Anybody else have tips or links for breakfast/lunch/dinner for breaking the bordem?

AmberP~ You are not the only one who caves. I had popcorn(no butter) and a few M&M's at the movies the other day when we took the boys to see ice age3. The movies just don't seem the same without it. Then I had a piece of gluten free carrot cake (to DIE for) from a local GF bakery. *Sigh* Now it's time to get back on the horse I think it is harder during AF. I am always craving dessert. I force myself to refrain and have some jerky, olives and a pickle(probably not paleo?) instead. That usually does the trick for me.

I didn't get my almond flour ordered in time to make a cake, so I am not sure what I am going to do for a cake for my birthday, but DD is adamant that I have one LOL

Re: Paleo & Primal Chat August/September

I have read most of it. I also follow his blog at Mark's Daily Apple =)

I had great day today. I made turkey wraps with Applegate farms turkey, fresh basil, lettuce, avocados, pea shoots and a small bit of mayo. Then for dinner, I made delicious taco salads with chicken, olives and salsa. Then I had a slice of kerrygold butter for dessert LOL I also did a lot of walking and playing the last two days, so I feel great.

Re: Paleo & Primal Chat August/September

Day one without dairy or coffee and I'm feeling pretty okay so far. There were a few tense moments this morning when I considered using whole milk since I have no half & half in the house, but I resisted. As far as sugar goes, I've had a banana and a couple raisins. Not bad considering what I have been doing to myself lately lol.

I've been eating these at lunch lately http://avocadopesto.com/2012/07/04/t...cado-roll-ups/ but I use lettuce and just a tiny bit of sprouts or some pea shoots. I've also started putting julienned carrots and thin slices of red onion or red pepper in them. One day I did bacon too.

So I didn't really follow through with Paleo for very long because I felt awful! Stomach aches, gassy, and just sluggish feeling. Thoughts?

How long were you eating this way? It usually takes a month or more to adjust between lowering carb intake and your stomach getting used to different veggies. Look up low-carb flu. It lasted almost two weeks for me before I felt the fog lift. Also, it is possible that you have an allergy or intolerance to something else you were eating too. For instance, I increased my nut intake and it turns out I get sick every time I eat pecans and I am quite allergic to walnuts. Also, when I started eating lots more greens, my digestive system went haywire for about a week and a half before it was used to it.

Yeah I think it's just a detox, when you add lot of veggies it works on cleaning out your innards, and more meat lubes up the whole system...it's like getting an oil change in a rusted out car...it will take a while.

Re: Paleo & Primal Chat August/September

I had really sugary lemonade at the fair on Sunday and within two hours, I was SO sick. It was awful.

I've not been around on DS the last week or so. I'm not sure why. Probably because I and in a funk and am using sposies and feel guilty LOL I hope you are all well.
