Advice on when to test and do you think I could be?
I have been out of the TTC waters for nearly 2 years, so I've forgotten a lot of timeframe info/dates, etc. We weren't really TTC, but NTNP.
My baby weaned recently just before turning 1 year old. I know I was ovulating about a week and a half ago because of the huge amount of mucous. It is my main ovulation predictor. DH and I DTD last Friday and that's the only chance I would have had at getting preggers. I thought I was past ovulation, mucous was pretty much gone. I'm expecting my first PP period at any time, but not sure when since I don't have a cycle to go off of. My boobs began to feel sore the day before yesterday. I just thought it was from the weaning and a little residual engorgement (though they don't feel engorged). I last nursed about 8 days ago. They hurt just as much today and I'm started to wonder if I'm actually pregnant!!! I would love to be, I love babies and believe they are a true blessing. DH would freak, but get over it. LOL Soooo, is it too early to test? When should I? I know I could just wait for AF to show up, but where's the fun in that?! Do you tend do be more fertile after you've been nursing for a year? Any advice would be so appreciated!

Re: Advice on when to test and do you think I could be?
I usually wait 12 dpo. That way I feel like I'm not wasting money on tests. As in, I tested at day 9, got a negative, so I should go out and keep buying more. But that's just me.
I know that I see positives reported as soon as 9 dpo.Are you charting? If you're still seeing raised temps, it's a good sign. Last edited by AniMommy; 08-03-2012 at 03:49 PM. |

When we were TTC#2 I was charting, temping, and started testing pretty early (9 dpo) and got all negatives until 14 dpo.... Even with the most sensitive tests and FMU. With this last (surprise... Well, we weren't being careful
) I waited until a day or so before I expected AF but still managed to be close to 14 dpo (what I assumed was from the past 4 PP AF cycles) before I got the first positive. You can always hit up the Dollar Store for some cheapies if you wanted to test sooner. But don't feel like you're out just because it's still negative before AF would show up.
