Re: Help! How do you juggle preschool kids?

Ydd goes to an in home daycare that is near our preschool, she drives her there daily and I or dh pick her up. I would talk to the teacher she may know of a parent thatnwould be willing to transport for you or that also has childcare that will transport

We were also wondering this. Dd goes to dc that does a lot of curriculum, but it isn't "PreK" but I'm not sure how to swing transportation to another place....

Re: Help! How do you juggle preschool kids?

DS1 was in preschool last year and his daycare, while in a different town, is on our school districts bus route. He was in teh afternoon session along with 3 other kids from his daycare and 3 or 4 from the daycare next door. The school sends out a regular school bus to pick up preschool kids for afternoon session. They all rode the bus to preschool and then home on the regular bus with the older school age kids.

It worked great for us. That is one reason we chose that particular daycare.

My preschool is part of my daycare so it's no biggie. During preschool time they do that, during the rest of the day he's in daycare. There are several daycare's around here that also have preschools attached, and several others who transport kids to school at the right time.

Re: Help! How do you juggle preschool kids?

GAH, I'm struggling it's this too. There is a teaching job that was just posted at the school Icahn see from my front yard but am not sure what to do about daycare. Ds goes to a church preschool 3 mornings and rides the bus to speech class 2 afternoons. Not sure who I can find to take that on. Dh is a mechanic so him switching to nights isn't an option.

Re: Help! How do you juggle preschool kids?

We chose high quality Montessori programs that are full time. They are open 7 to 6. They play/do breakfast 7-9, do school from 9 to 12, lunch and playtime 12-2, nap 2-4, playtime 4 to pickup. S you can drop off any time before 9 and pickup at 12 or 2 or anytime between 4 and 6. Some parents used the part time option but my kids go/ went full time. Each of the playtimes is partly outside.

I would either look for a full day program or seek out another parent's help. Is there an AM option?

Re: Help! How do you juggle preschool kids?

Our issue is I live in a tiny town with only home daycares and church preschools. Ds also rides the bus 2 afternoons a week to ECE preschool for speech and has to be in city limits for that. That's why I stopped working in the first place. I'm applying for a job in our small city and dh will work part time and weekends if I get it until we can find someone local who wants to watch the kids and can do transportation I guess.

Re: Help! How do you juggle preschool kids?

DD1 goes to a full day pre-k 8-4. Last year she went for a half-day in the morning but DH's shirt start in the afternoon and I worked part-time so it was easy to manage.

My niece goes to a daycare that has a pre-k class, but is still full-day. Is that not an option for you?
