Blurred spot in vision!

I was at the grocery store a little while ago and all of a sudden I couldn't read all of my list on my phone. There was a small spot in my vision that was blurry I would look up toward the people walking toward me and couldn't see their face! The spot got a little bigger so I went ahead and left and now that I'm home it's gone and my vision seems to be fine but I still kind of feel out of it. I have a bit of a headache now right behind my eyes.

So has anyone ever experienced something like that? What could cause it??

ETA I'm 30 wks and 4 days

I had that for a while when pregnant. Something to do with changing fluid levels, I was told. It stopped after a couple of weeks.

Migraine. The hormonal changes in your body can cause them. I get them a lot pregnant or not.

It could also be an optical migraine. I have gotten them and that's what happened, like I couldn't see out of that eye but I could, just not right, then I could see again but had searing pain on that side for a bit, then gone. Weird but 'normal'.

I got them when I was pregnant and would become dehydrated. Drink lots of water, water and more water!

Re: Blurred spot in vision!

my eye doctor warned me of this and told me to call right away if this happens. but i'm not pg. she said because i have a strong prescription i am at higher risk of retinal detachment and that can be a symptom. i'm surprised that more mamas aren't concerned with the implications of vision and blood pressure in pregnancy. i would call my doctor.

My mom and I get them, and we've always called them ocular migraines. I get them on occasion, but more likely when pregnant. I definitely end up feeling whoozey for the rest of the day, too. It's not uncommon and nothing to be worried about

Re: Blurred spot in vision!

Artifacts in vision (not typically blurry spots, but they can present that way) can be a symptom of pre-eclampsia. I'd get your blood pressure checked, even if you go to a drug store with one of those machines. If it comes back higher than normal I'd check with your OB or midwife. I only know this because it was one of the battery of questions that they asked me when I was borderline with pre-e.

Definitely call your doc/midwife!!! The first thing that comes to my mind is pre-eclampsia. Not something you want to risk going untreated!

This. I have them occasionally; more frequently when pregnant.
