Washing & Prepping Wool Qs

I finally purchased my first wool cover to use for overnights. Talk to me about washing & prepping. I know woolite is actually not safe for wool. I've heard mention of olive oil soap for poop stains. Could it be used to wash as well? Thanks!

Re: Washing & Prepping Wool Qs

I would get a good wool wash like Eucalan or most diaper shops have some good stuff like Naturally Luxe in their laundry or wool care section. For nights I would l like to use some solid lanolin too. You could just stick with that (something like Lansinoh) and baby wash and would be good to go. I use a wool wash bar with lanolin for spot cleaning stains so that I don't have to relanolize every time we have a little mess.

Re: Washing & Prepping Wool Qs

i just use gentle baby soap to wash and Lansinoh breast cream to lanolise..heres what i do:

gentle hand wash in luke warm water with baby soap...rinse gently
fill sink with new luke warm water
fill baby food jar with HOT water adding a little baby soap and a good drop of lansinoh
shake a ton till it becomes white in color
add to sink full of water-swish
add wool
soak for half hour-overnight depending how water proof you want it.

soaking for an hour usually works just fine for me

thats my system altho there are TONS of other ways of doing it
