I guess it depends on what you mean by common. My middle name is Marie but I don't know of anyone in my generation who has used Marie for their child's middle name. For me, Marie is "common" because it was very popular for a period of time. In my experience, if your middle name is Marie you were born in the 80s (or earlier.) I see Grace as classic because I would not associate it with a particular decade, it is more timeless. A name that will never go out of style.

My daughter's first name is Grace. I almost didn't give it to her because the name had blasted in popularity, but it felt like it fit - and it so does!

Another vote for Evangeline Grace. Who cares how common it is. Those names are beautiful together.

I was just sharing my experience, not statistics. Most of my friends growing up had the same middle name as me, Marie. I grew up in NY & PA. I have yet to meet a kid near the ages of my children (6 yrs and under) with the middle name Marie. We have lived in several states since having kids (NY, GA, CA, HI, etc) and meet a lot of people in the military. I just don't hear it anymore.

I've never seen a middle name chart, link me? I have seen the list of first names that is released every year.
