If you want to look to scripture go ahead, but I would take everything that site says with a giant bottle of salt, as they seem pretty confused on a lot of scriptural meaning.

Re: Christians who don't celebrate Christmas, Easter, etc.
This is what I was thinking, too. I was waiting for the ,"I am not Christian but..." answers and it happened in the first reply. LOL

To the OP: We do celebrate Christmas focusing on Jesus' birth while recognizing that He was not born in December. We focus on family time, posadas, St. Nick, and very few gifts. We also celebrate Easter (and other celebrations along the liturgical calendar) but again focusing on the resurrection- not the commercial aspect of the holiday.

And I'd also like to add the Roman Catholic comment was offensive.

Re: Christians who don't celebrate Christmas, Easter, etc.
I think Christmas is too commercialized. I celebrate it bit modified. We don't do the guy from the North Pole. Instead I give 3 gifts to my kids. (to represent the 3 gifts given to Jesus by the Wise Men and also we discuss the story of Saint Nicholas.)
At Easter, we always have unleavened bread as part of the meal and we discuss the parallels between passover and Easter. (The blood of the lamb saving us from physical death and the "blood of the lamb"/ Jesus saving us from a spiritual death.) **I know you asked about people who don't celebrate them. We do but in a less commercialized fashion. Also we don't "visit" family during the holidays. We tell everyone that we enjoy our own "traditions" and it is important to our family unit that we spend time together. This works as we would have to travel to visit family.

I do not go crazy over the gifts, but I do looove giving handmade (usually knits or homemade soap type items) to friends and family. I also request that our family does not go crazy buying the kids things they do not need but rather focus on experiences and times together. We want to keep Christ as the center focus of Christmas- not gift giving but since gift giving is my #1 love language, I do like to bless others.
