DD took a kindergarten readiness test this morning to see if she could start K this year. She just turned 5 last month. I had no idea they were testing to see IF she could start. I thought it was to see which classroom to put her in. I'm kinda glad I didn't know, or I'd have been nervous! Anyway, she did great!

That's how it is here, too, but I guess if you have a bday that's close, they can place you in a 'kindergarten readiness' class to help you get ready for kindy. Which would've put her a year behind. I think she's definitely ready.
